Materials Needed

-Baking soda
-Vinegar
-Small bottle or cup
-Food coloring (optional)
-Tray to catch spillage

Instructions

  1. Place the container on a tray to catch the mess.
  2. Add 2–3 tablespoons of baking soda into the container.
  3. (Optional) Add a few drops of food coloring to make it more fun.
  4. Pour vinegar into the container and watch the eruption as the baking soda reacts with the vinegar, creating bubbles and foam!

Explanation

The acid (vinegar) reacts with the base (baking soda) to produce carbon dioxide gas, which creates the bubbling effect.
