Materials-None

Instructions

  • “Going on a trip”

    • Trip leader think of a “rule” and tells the group she’s going on a trip and bringing an item that plays by the “rule”.

      • For example if the rule is “made of wood”, someone could say “I want to come and I’m bringing a hat”. The leader would then say “I’m sorry, you can’t come.” If someone says “I want to come and I’m bringing a pencil”, the leader would say “You can come!”

      • Rules can vary and could include things such as…

        • Start with Letter “A” (or another letter)

        • Made with…

        • Rhymes with…

        • Color…

    • The goal of the game is for the other travelers to figure out the rule.

  • “Guess in 10”

    • The starting person think of an item in a category. For example, the category could be animals, and the animal would be a zebra.

    • The category is shared with the group, but the item is not.

    • The group takes turns asking “yes/no” questions about the item. Once 10 questions are up, the group as a whole guesses what the item is.

  • “I spy”

    • One person in the group silently picks an item that everyone can see.

    • They then describe the item in one, simple way.

      • For example, it could be “I spy something yellow,” or “I spy something soft”.

    • The group then takes turns guessing what the item is.

  • Story Building

    • One person starts a story with a sentence, such as, "Once upon a time, there was a dragon who loved to play soccer." Each person then takes turns adding a sentence to continue the story.
